600k American cases, with 35k recovered. This isn’t even almost worth debating yet.
The numbers are such that you can clearly see the initial estimates were sound.

The numbers literally agree. LOL. You just don't know how to multiply them.

1% infection rate

20k fatalities

We need to get to 70% infection rate to reach herd immunity..

If hospitals are overrun, add the 15% or so critical patients who could have survived to the fatalities count..

Here are today's stats thus far..

Total cases: 588,958
Active cases: 527,883

Total deaths: 23,749

Total recovered: 37,326

Critical: 12,772

Last I read researchers estimate about 80% of the cases are not officially detected and recorded here. That gives you:

588,958 / 0.2 = 2.94 million total cases in the US.

Population of the US is about 350 million

We really are not even at 1% infected yet, but to be super generous to capps, let's assume we have as many as 3.5 million total cases (active, recovered, and dead).

We have 23,749 fatalities thus far and we currently have 12,772 people on critical care that would not have had access to that care if you just let the disease "wash over the country" as Trump asked Fauci if he could let happen. So if you just went with the dipshit herd immunity plan, we'd really be somewhere around 23,749 + 12,772 = 36,521 fatalities not accounting for what people actually were able to get ICU beds when we all got sick at once (a tiny percentage would have that luxury if civilization didn't collapse).

Scaling that up to 70% yields you 2.55 million fatalities.

Taking off the ICU beds that could possibly have been allocated would get you somewhere down to around 2.2 million fatalities.

Which is what the Imperial College of London estimated.

They were correct. Capps is a dumbass who can't understand arithmetic. Why am I even here wasting my time. Fuck this and fuck you.

Way more people are infected than confirmed infected, and when you factor that into the math it isn't even close to 1 million, let alone 2.2 million

Fake StA so fake

Yes. 80% more. LOL.

You just don't understand math. That's not my problem. But your arrogance combined with your uneducated ignorance is really fucking annoying.

Their numbers were spot fucking on now that I actually just wasted my time trying to teach you middle school algebra.

They decided to throw us all under the bus for their markets until the Imperial College of London pointed out that could cost millions of lives.
So . . . it could've cost us milions of lives, as you say, but it has cost us 24k.
Not too shabby.
You have tens of thousands of dead Americans right now who did NOT have to die but did because of government incompetence. Not just because of Trump either. Democrats and republicans alike share in this debacle, but to abrogate Trump of accountability is fucking stupid, honestly.
I've absolved Trump of nothing. I've simply added context to an extremely unbalanced presentation of facts. I've shown:
  • The steps Trump has taken to address coronavirus, which have been considerable.
  • The opposition (Dems, media, leftists) have no high ground to claim, having both made similarly ridiculous statements and predictions on the outbreak and having grossly mismanaged their own responsibilities.
Neither of those things say "Trump made no mistakes, his handling has been perfect". They simply dispel the erroneous assertion that Trump did everything wrong, his handling created a disaster.
