Here are today's stats thus far..
Total cases: 588,958
Active cases: 527,883
Total deaths: 23,749
Total recovered: 37,326
Critical: 12,772
Last I read researchers estimate about 80% of the cases are not officially detected and recorded here. That gives you:
588,958 / 0.2 = 2.94 million total cases in the US.
Population of the US is about 350 million
We really are not even at 1% infected yet, but to be super generous to capps, let's assume we have as many as 3.5 million total cases (active, recovered, and dead).
We have 23,749 fatalities thus far and we currently have 12,772 people on critical care that would not have had access to that care if you just let the disease "wash over the country" as Trump asked Fauci if he could let happen. So if you just went with the dipshit herd immunity plan, we'd really be somewhere around 23,749 + 12,772 = 36,521 fatalities not accounting for what people actually were able to get ICU beds when we all got sick at once (a tiny percentage would have that luxury if civilization didn't collapse).
Scaling that up to 70% yields you 2.55 million fatalities.
Taking off the ICU beds that could possibly have been allocated would get you somewhere down to around 2.2 million fatalities.
Which is what the Imperial College of London estimated.
They were correct. Capps is a dumbass who can't understand arithmetic. Why am I even here wasting my time. Fuck this and fuck you.
