Hate speech is free speech, which is a fundamental human freedom. It is not wise to restrict a fundamental human freedom because you personally can't see a benefit in certain forms of free speech that you disagree with, and stupid people are looking for a reason to do stupid things and claim certain ideas are the reason they do stupid things.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 4:22 pmHate speech is not a fundamental human freedom. It serves no positive benefit and can lead the weak minded to commit hate crimes.
Hate is a recruitment tool for radicalisation.
Wrong answer.
If that's all you got and you still want to restrict free speech, that's being a control freak, trying to control something you can't control, and when you get your way, it backfires on you and is counter-productive to solving the problem that leads you to supporting restricting free speech in the first place. Then your response is, well they didn't restrict free speech enough, restrict more of it until the violence stops, and it will never stop and you will always want more and more speech restricted to help yourself feel safer, even when the opposite is true.
