Yeah, the Sun is going to explode eventually anyway, why bother trying to be more sustainable.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

On the one hand... yes indeed... lets make the place more sustainable... fucking great idea!

There is definitely bad shit happening in the commons.

On the other hand... lets not ram a bunch of bad ideas down everyone's throat because "We're all going to die!" otherwise...

It's really about separating the wheat from the chaff when it comes to policy.

They go about it the wrong way. Instead of making up fake science, you could for instance make the argument that altering the chemical composition of the Earth's atmosphere is unlikely to represent a wise choice for humanity, and we could make reasonable steps to curb that process with some future goal of ending the risk.

Absolutely, good ideas only. Reducing carbon footprints for example. Of course, we have to somehow get past the vested interests of the fossil fuel lobby and the Ostritches claiming ''fake science'' first.

That was figured out already, we just needed the tech to genetic alter us to fight against the side effects.
What? Stem Cell therapy... digital consciousness download... which solution are you referring to?

And then there is the pesky problem of statistical situations like lightning strikes and terrorist attacks...
The longer you can live the more inevitable it is that small likelihood events are going to take you down...

Real immortality is still not in the cards for us mere mortals I'm afraid.

So REPENT SINNERS... THE END IS NIGH!

Do you know how much fossil fuel is going to be required to go green and supplement the shortfalls of green energy ? Are you for or against nuclear energy?

Obviously, he's against it, it's too common sense to use it and get away from energy dependency...

For, in the short term until renewable energy sources can provide the shortfall.
Are you aware of how much fossil fuel is used to extract and transport fossil fuels?
