Yeah, the Sun is going to explode eventually anyway, why bother trying to be more sustainable.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

On the one hand... yes indeed... lets make the place more sustainable... fucking great idea!Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:02 pmYeah, the Sun is going to explode eventually anyway, why bother trying to be more sustainable.
There is definitely bad shit happening in the commons.
On the other hand... lets not ram a bunch of bad ideas down everyone's throat because "We're all going to die!" otherwise...

They go about it the wrong way. Instead of making up fake science, you could for instance make the argument that altering the chemical composition of the Earth's atmosphere is unlikely to represent a wise choice for humanity, and we could make reasonable steps to curb that process with some future goal of ending the risk.

Absolutely, good ideas only. Reducing carbon footprints for example. Of course, we have to somehow get past the vested interests of the fossil fuel lobby and the Ostritches claiming ''fake science'' first.DrYouth wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:39 pmOn the one hand... yes indeed... lets make the place more sustainable... fucking great idea!Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:02 pmYeah, the Sun is going to explode eventually anyway, why bother trying to be more sustainable.

Do you know how much fossil fuel is going to be required to go green and supplement the shortfalls of green energy ? Are you for or against nuclear energy?Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:49 pmAbsolutely, good ideas only. Reducing carbon footprints for example. Obviously, he's against it, it's too common sense to use it and get away from energy dependency...Haumana wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:52 pmDo you know how much fossil fuel is going to be required to go green and supplement the shortfalls of green energy ? For, in the short term until renewable energy sources can provide the shortfall.Haumana wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:52 pmDo you know how much fossil fuel is going to be required to go green and supplement the shortfalls of green energy ? Are you aware of how much fossil fuel is used to extract and transport fossil fuels?
