Sinclair wasn't even all that concerned with the contamination, unsanitary conditions, and the lies about what was being sold. He was concerned about workers conditions. The book was supposed to open dialog about workers rights. But Americans read the book and were pissed off about the ancillary details regarding food safety and accurate reporting of what is actually being sold.
In general, be very skeptical of any man who doesn't want you to have information about the products and services you purchase. Opposing people even having access to accurate information about what they purchase doesn't seem to me to have any reasonable defense.

Yes, be very skeptical of any of those if they show up.

We've got lots of pinkos and commies around here; do we have any of the "libertarian" brand? If there are any, I'm not seeing them.
The Sinclair version of socialism would be a fucking joke, if it were funny.
I prefer fabulist over sensationalist, nuke. As in, a teller of fables. In this case, commie fables. As in, only by giving control of agricultural production over to the federal city and the largest and best connected corporations can we have a true workers' paradise.

Yeah, these commies should just eat their rat balls burgers and stop asking questions about what's in the products they purchase.
I’m Glad Humans Are Trying to take over because everything they Do it’s has a Flaw, Humans Suck At Making Things And Things They do always go bad ,they always Miss the Point, 100 years maybe 300 years can Past by but Eventually Thinks will come to the end One way or Another, Been scare Doesn’t give you Nothing, Knowledge Will Give you Results I’m not worry About Today And Tomorrow ,I’m Glad I know GOD, eternal Life Is the promise we The People All the People will receive if We gave our Souls to God And Follow his Words...
Government tried to shut them down for not being energy efficient enough.
So they dissected the rule book. The energy efficiency rule applies to “normal mode.”
So they added a new mode to their dial. Made it completely shit so it doesn’t even real wash.
Then put a giant label in the owners manuel explaining that the mode is shit.
And now every Spreed Queen washer has an energy label from the government that says they are the most efficient.... except in practice they are the least effecient
Government acts you do not like are irrelevant rebuttals of anything but whatever those examples refer to. In this case, we are talking about printing a number on products. That's it. Not telling people how much soda they can consume or defining what is skim milk, etc.
