The book was supposed to open dialog about workers rights. Here an in practice example.

Speed Queen washing machines.

Government tried to shut them down for not being energy efficient enough.

So they dissected the rule book. The energy efficiency rule applies to “normal mode.”

So they added a new mode to their dial. Made it completely shit so it doesn’t even real wash.

Then put a giant label in the owners manuel explaining that the mode is shit.

And now every Spreed Queen washer has an energy label from the government that says they are the most efficient.... except in practice they are the least effecient

But at least the government got their label!

Government acts you do not like are irrelevant rebuttals of anything but whatever those examples refer to. In this case, we are talking about printing a number on products. That's it. Not telling people how much soda they can consume or defining what is skim milk, etc.
