...has a court ever enforced a contract that was formed without government involvement?
WTF?

:confusion-confused:

What do you think happens if you stopped paying your credit card bill?
It's called a write off, Jerry. They write it off.

Nice reference.

Bro Grumps, read this --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_contract
Looks like the answer is “not really, unless it suited them”.
The Supreme Court applied the liberty of contract doctrine sporadically over the next three decades but generally upheld reformist legislation as being within the states' police power. In 1937 the Court reversed its view in the case West Coast Hotel Co. v. Parrish. In that case the court upheld a Washington state law setting a minimum wage.
However, that article appears to only address labor contracts. I’m curious if there are any other examples - especially one in which it was inconvenient for the state to do so.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

I've been growing my beard out because whatever. Just been doing the basic neck and cheeks shave to keep a somewhat clean appearance. I'm just going to let it go dude. Idgaf.

Got to go on a 4 hr speed awareness course today.
Got caught by a temporary speed camera in Manchester doing 38 mph in a 30 zone.

The choice was £100 fine with three points on my clean licence plus a possible increase in insurance premium or £90 for the course with no points.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Well, that was 4 hours of my life I'm never getting back...
On the plus side, I only broke the speed limit twice on the way home so it must have been instructive.

I totally agree. We should also beat into comas anybody who is a communist. Communists killed more people than Nazis ever did, so when is it too late to beat somebody for ever identifying a communist or socialist?
