"As it turns out, the new nitro lids that Starbucks is leaning on to replace straws are made up of more plastic than the company's current lid/straw combination.
Right now, Starbucks patrons are topping most of their cold drinks with either 3.23 grams or 3.55 grams of plastic product, depending on whether they pair their lid with a small or large straw. The new nitro lids meanwhile weigh either 3.55 or 4.11 grams, depending again on lid size."

FWIW you should not be using lids let alone straws on hot liquids. Unless you enjoy ingesting estrogen mimickers. They are made of plastic and it's bad for you. I feel like you guys are willing to cut your nose off to spite your face. As someone previously said, "drink your coffee like an adult." Fucking life lessons I never would have thought needed to be met out on this dysfunctional forum.

That's perfectly fine but I would seriously push legislation through to make it a deportable offense if you ingest liquid plastic runoff. No joke. Sometimes agreeing with liberals for all the wrong reasons.

The problem is liberals were the ones that went on the plastic craze, plastic bags, bottles, etc.
Now we have islands of plastic in the ocean.
I was happy with glass bottles, the water and soda tasted better in them than plastic.
Sure, you sometimes cut your foot on random glass shards, but you had as good of a chance having your foot lacerated by crab claws too.
Paper bags biodegrade, plastic, not so much.
Save the Earth my ass...

So, the new lids... they use more plastic than the straws themselves.
Seems to me that someone didn’t think it through.
