Plastic straws...plastic fucking straws. Our ancestors got moonshine and cuban cigars, and we get plastic straws.

Which is the bigger taking? :violin:

We would sup' up our cars to make 'em fast enough to outrun the law when we's running a load'a straws into the city. After a while we started gettin' t'gether to race each other. That's how it all got started.

Disabled people can use re-usable straws, children can use paper straws and the rest can act like fucking adults and drink without straws at all.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Then they have to carry around those straws, buy them, and wash them. Soon enough we will hear about a "handicap" tax and the same asshippies will demand the taxpayer now shell out subsidies for these reusable straws in turn they will turn out more and more of these straws than ever before as such in most people's minds they won't be reusable or rather don't want them to be since they arent paying for them. Same as it ever was. You dont have solutions, you are a bitch.

Gonna be another hot day here today. I'll be asking for two straws for my milkshake at lunch. I might get an extra for a spare also, just in case.

Time to end universal franchise. This is beyond ridiculous.

This will end up backfiring, just like all prohibitions do.

Case in point, California's plastic bag ban.

The vast majority of people got over the reusable bag thing pretty quick, and have just decided to take it on the chin and buy the $0.10 bags when checking out. The stores are not selling paper bags anymore, but rather "reusable" plastic bags that are larger, thicker, and use more plastic to create. No normal person actually reuses these, so they get thrown away, and we get even more garbage in our landfills.

This is what bought and sold politicians making as do-gooders get you
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

What you do not consider is that these people get off on controlling others. Go read Monty's post above for exhibit A.

It does not matter how stupid this is. They are like those people who get off by driving slow in the left lane, causing traffic congestion, and you can see them spending more time looking in the rear view mirror to enjoy the frustration they sow than actually watching where their cars are heading.

This kind of stupid shit -- and stupid is perhaps the nicest characterization of the shit we see here -- is what happens when everybody votes, even when they are idiots.

Just look at it. The kinds of politicians we get when everybody votes can ban plastic straws but endless wars are somehow immutable facts of life. These people care more about straws than two decades of war.
