Perhaps we should stop treating it like some sacred rite, and more like the biological function that it is. We are, at the base, no more than animals, wearing plant fibers. Even if abortions were free and practiced regularly, without restriction, we would be light-years beyond the natural world in caring for our offspring. Not to mention, less of a burden on each other.

Parents have an enormous responsibility to their children, even before they are born. The questions you are asking are the right ones, these are the questions the SCOTUS took a pass on. When does live exist. We already have decided medically and legally when life exists by our definition of death. Brain activity and a heartbeat is typically what is required for someone to be alive.

I do have to say the fact that a fertilized eggs almost immediately creating unique DNA is one of the most interesting arguments that has come up recently.
