Whether it needs to be punished or not is the issue. I saw no because the right to self select a mate for me trumps the need to eliminate this form of racism.

The discrimination must be without regard for individual merit. She turned down that black guy because she wasn't attracted to him, not because he is black. She used a poor choice of words in her statement that in today's age people are too stupid to understand what she actually meant.

It used to be we could use the word “discriminate” and its definition relied on the context: discriminating who your friends were was different than discrimination that denied opportunity but our enemy conflates the two now.
