Imagine being a toddler and from age 2-5 your implicit memories being formed are of the medical junta and your environment could be completely saturated by mask signs, hand sanitizer, never seeing faces, maybe having your parents freaked out about all this, and everyone you see talking about this thing called covid. It's all bad man.
My wife is a Librarian in a K-5 school. She says it's had a huge negative impact on these kids. Kids are behind on everything, language in particular and social skills. Not being able to see faces during formative years is bad.

This is the unseen fallout from this. I can't imagine having a baby who only has witnessed most people in masks. The damage this has done will only really be known years down the road.

You live in Hawaii, in where your state has put one of the most insane congresspersons in place only next to AOC does she seem somewhat normal. As long as her and the governor circle jerks each other off, don't expect that to change.
You have no idea of the demographics of the state.. I don't have shit. They don't represent me nor my neighbors. They represent Honolulu and Waikiki. My town has 1300 people in it. I live in the country and we have minimal representation on a State level much less on a Country level. Hawaii has a population of 1.something million and 80% of them live in those two cities. 7 islands. My half of Oahu has maybe 100k. So yeah, I don't expect any sort of change, Monty.

Another subject that you feel compelled to expound upon that you know dick about.

I like to point to Hawaii and Aspen, CO as examples of what a tourist based economy looks like and what it means for locals.

Yeah, There is a growing movement to become more self sustainable here. There is no reason that we can't grow our own food, including beef, here. We could really become 60-70% self sufficient. Our government has become really complacent and everyone was riding the gravy train. Reality is setting in. People are moving in that direction.

Thought I had earlier today.

Taylor Hawkins of the band Foo Fighters died a couple of weeks ago. Autopsy found at least 10 substances in his blood. Sounds like he dies from drugs.

Foo Fighters is one of the bands that required a vax card to see their shows. People mourned poor Taylor, such a sad death. Idolized him more now than when he was alive.

Had Taylor not been vaccinated and had dies of COVID, everyone would be calling him a stupid POS for this choice to not get the shot (I assume he was vaccinated based on the bands stance about concert attendance). Yet his choice to continue to do all kinds of drugs and his bandmates choice to let him tour with them like that is somehow admirable. No shot, no tour. Shoot up 10 different drugs, no problem.

More hypocrisy. More theater.

I wonder how many people from the beginning say, March 2020, were looking at people walking around with masks and hand sanitizers as basically neurotic nut cases? When I see people today operating that way I just idk.

p.s.
Heydarlon was someone super skeptical from the jump and never wavered. I was talking to him a lot in 2020.
Nukedog made a thread in March or April 2020 calling covid fake and gay.

I know man. Several far-right dudes were saying that, but in aggregate it wasn't many. Most were thinking it was something at least for the first 4-5 months of 2020.

I called bullshit about two weeks after the two weeks to slow the spread.

I remember late April 2020, I was sitting around a fire with about 10 friends and we were laughing at all the hysteria and wondered how long this BS would last…..never thought it would’ve been two years.

I said it was all a plan to get mail-in voting to defeat Trump and said so. I thought it would be over after the election b/c at that time i didn’t imagine it was part of a grander strategy.
