Best time to plant a tree is last year.
Gardens take quite a while to establish too. And fertilizer isn’t getting cheaper.

There is a time for good men to do bad things.

Decomposing fish worked for the Native Americans, it should be able to work for us. What do you think compost gardening ultimately is?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 10:49 amYou’re burying carp in your garden?SilverEagle wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 3:38 amGo do some carp fishing. It does seem to fit that explanation.
I was just in CA: it seems like a foreign country now.

Just a question... why is California growing rice? One of the most water-intensive crops out there ever to be grown?C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:46 pmAdd this to the mixMartin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:35 pmIt does seem to fit that explanation.

Western water rights are a bizarre mess.

It has nothing to do with water rights... This has to do with stupidity.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 3:01 pmThat, and almonds. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 2:26 pmJust a question... why is California growing rice? When supermarkets try to hide stock shortages.
The tags underneath say out of stock. And the isle as a whole, as well as cooking oils, something that is always stocked.
This is S&S in Chelmsford, MA BTW.
Sorry, images are reversed again. I am at the store on my phone. “Posting live”

Yup, that is the problem with California's agriculture, they want to grow all of the water intensive crops, and end up using up all of their water. For all the claims of caring about sustainability California is arguable the least sustainable state.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 3:01 pmThat, and almonds. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 2:26 pmJust a question... why is California growing rice? I say we flood the Central Valley, and recreate the inland sea that used to exist there when ocean levels were higher.
To add to this, I have a theory that Democrat politics is just applying issues that exist in California to the rest of the country even though they are not issues in the rest of the country.
