This guy tries like hell to confirm losses before he counts them.

Read somewhere that that Ivan has lost 5% of his pre-staged vehicles.

We may have some progress on peace

President Zelensky's 14-hour old ABC News interview (which we detailed hours ago below) is finally getting widespread distribution and is being repackaged as a significant nod to Moscow on what's been Putin's core issue he cited as justification for launching the war:

In another apparent nod aimed at placating Moscow, Zelensky said he is open to "compromise" on the status of two breakaway pro-Russian territories that President Vladimir Putin recognized as independent just before unleashing the invasion on February 24.

"I have cooled down regarding this question a long time ago after we understood that ...NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine," Zelensky said in an interview aired Monday night on ABC News.

Looks like Ukraine is finally ready to cut a deal. Zelensky gave up on the NATO fantasy and his top adviser is speaking openly about long term security guarantees.

Far more unite us than divide us
I would say that Russia has just unified the entire Western World

they have breached UN Article 51 in contravention of the Nuremberg Principles

they have gone father than the Soviets ever did

and they have done it on the central front in Europe

so the shit is hitting the fan now

Speaker is right, this has only just begun, doesn't even matter what the outcome in Ukraine now
Oh agreed. The only way I see this calming down is a palace coup. He can’t walk away. That’s failure. And that’s him gone, and probably not in a good way. The rhetoric is unhinged more and more as he’s starting threatening the west.
I’m really not seeing a way for him to back down without a bullet in his head

Hopefully this works out. Unfortunately, The American Hawks know how weak Russia’s conventional military is when fighting an expeditionary war. This is going to embolden the west even more while also making Russia bark louder.

I agree. When people tend to think of WWII and even WWI they think it was a flip of the switch and that was not the case. There was hot conflict that started months before the main explosion of war occurred. This could go on for a couple of months before all hell breaks loose.
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

The whole situation is completely fucked. The conflict in Ukraine can end tomorrow but now everybody knows that the boogie man ain't shit. The ramifications are huge.

I'd bet you that, if Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Moldovia, Romania, etc., all just linked up and counter-attacked, they'd cause quite a lot of fucking damage pretty far into Russia if they really wanted to. The Russians would have to use nuclear weapons or literally firebomb cities to make it stop. That's all they have to protect themselves now, and if that's all they have..

I agree. When people tend to think of WWII
well it really actually started in the Pacific

on 18 September 1931 with the Japanese invasion of Manchuria

What are the next military budget discussions even going to sound like? I mean.. what are we spending for? We need to find some aliens or something, because those Russians getting split roasted on the road to Kyiv probably don't warrant $750+ billion annual defense budget.

Maybe we need better missile defense systems. I dunno.

but if the Pax Americana has in fact fallen

that is America is the sole guarantor of global security

which I think it has at this point

then that is where we are back to

to before the Second World War

back to the 1930's

except with about 12,000 hydrogen bombs in play, 3,000 on hair trigger alert

1939 meets 1983
