There is a right to self defence. Right up to the use of deadly force if you feel your life is in danger.
There is no right to arm yourself for self defence though.

in Canada the right to self defence automatically includes the right to defend yourself with a gun

the courts here simply found it "reasonable" that a person would need a gun to defend themselves against a lethal threat

the arguments here in court are not about the gun, but whether the use of force was reasonable in respect to the threat

Same here (in your own home) however taking a weapon onto the streets to defend yourself is not considered self defence.

its not the same, because in the UK it is just a legal precedent, while in Canada is it an enumerated right enshrined in the Canada Act 1982

they never even travelled to the rest of Canada

they just drove from Nova Scotia to Dixieland to be with their own kind, back down the Evangeline Trial

in Nova Scotia they actually call it "the Hants County Drawl"

but they lived so long in SoCal they started talking like Californians

like when I travel in America, no American thinks I am Canadian, so I must sound like an American

Last year, April 2019 - March 2020, there were 30 homicides by firearm.
2 down from the previous year.
Most of these are men murdering their wives/partners.
The chances of me having to defend myself against a gunman are virtually zero.
