our Sun is tiny in the grand scheme of things, it's not a star that will end with an implosion
the stellar material of the expanded Red Giant Sun will just become a mantle around the cold White Dwarf core
to get a super nova, you need a Supermassive Red Giant, again, like Antares in Scorpius or Betelgeuse in Orion
those are the two stars you see in the sky which could implode into a super nova
only the very massive stars die in an implosion, most stars just expand, then cast the stellar material off leaving the core behind
when a supermassive star implodes, that creates a Black Hole, but our Sun is too light in mass to implode like that
it's like Alpha Orionis is 20 times the mass of our sun, 700 times the diameter
and that's not even that big by cosmic standards, but it's the closest thing which is that big which you can see in the sky

Nah, the theory is more that the highly radioactive elements set off a more intense chain reaction which fuses hydrogen more quickly.
Essentially like dropping a bit of gasoline into a fireplace. Not a big explosion, but a much more intense flame.

but our Sun is a Yellow Dwarf, and those do not die in a super nova
a Yellow Dwarf will expand into a Red Giant phase
the orbit of the Sun will expand out to about half way to Jupiter
but then it will just keep expanding until that stellar material flares off into a mantle, at the centre it will leave behind a White Dwarf core
the types of stars which implode into a super nova are Supermassive Red Giants, many times more massive and large than our Sun
you only get the super nova implosion when the star is so massive that its core collapses past White Dwarf into a Singularity
but our Sun is a Yellow Dwarf, and those do not die in a super nova
a Yellow Dwarf will expand into a Red Giant phase

that is specific ; a transient astronomical event which causes a "new" (nova) star in the sky
our sun will not end like that, there will be no nova at the end of Sol
