Russia & Iran face off against each other over the oil rich Caspian Sea

so a Sino-Persian pact is not actually friendly to Russia, that is a threat to Russia in the South Caucasus

Russia is also arming India while China is arming Pakistan

so Russia & China face off as adversaries by proxy in the nuclear armed Subcontinent as well

the mistaken assumption in the ether seems to be that there has to be an unipolar Hegemon

that the last thirty years of America being the only Hegemon has somehow become the rule

in reality there does not have to be a single unipolar Hegenomy
