Reports on the ground in Columbus, Ohio say that the electronic voting system is "down." So all paper ballots.

Why is it that my redneck town has electronic voting that works and we have no problems, but our urbanite overlords can't figure out how to run an election?

I’m about 3 hours from Columbus, due NW. We have electronic voting, and it prints out a paper ballot to ‘confirm’.

I’m three hours NE from Columbus. Ohio has two different methods depending on the county. One method is like SF county, a giant touch pad with a receipt style print out. The other is like my county. They give you a big paper ballot, you fill in the ovals next to your candidates name. When you’re done you tear off the bottom part and put it in an envelope that is attached to a big copier/fax machine looking thing. You stick your ballot into that and it scans your votes.

Lol it is stupid. Not sure why Ohio went that direction. I believe we started that in 2006.
