That can't happen. House picks the President before any of that happens.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 10:56 amGuaranteed. We could even end up with Pelosi in office by January. Eh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. The most powerful institution in the US is the press. The mainstream press is still heavily controlled by the leftists. I also do not have much faith in my generation to move back to a freedom focused ideologies.

The question is what will survive another Trump win?TheOneX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:06 pmEh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. I mean the pollsters that think Biden is 17 point up or what not, 90% chance of winning... After doing it *twice* (2016 & then 2020) will basically be out if a job. The media?? I dunno, Vox and it's ilk are already failing... Things like WaPo and NYT will probably survive, but CNN for another 4 years?
On the flip side, after a Biden win? CNN and MSNBC are probably toast... Their whole business model is "orange man bad" now.

If the media is so powerful, then how did Donald Trump get elected in the first place?TheOneX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:06 pmEh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. they don't have the power they wish they did, and they don't have the power you think they do, you over-estimate their impact

That is the hope, but until the witch is dead I will always be wary of proclaiming victory. I could probably stand a Biden presidency as long as the Democrats do not control either house of Congress.Ph64 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:19 pmThe question is what will survive another Trump win?TheOneX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:06 pmEh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. The media will be fine. CNN will be bought by Bezos. Corporations and billionaires love to hold on media companies for free advertising and t9 threaten rivals. "Whatch what you say about me Bloomberg otherwise WaPO and CNN will fuck you up big." They'll have to become state TV to cover for these guys.Ph64 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:19 pmThe question is what will survive another Trump win?TheOneX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:06 pmEh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. If the media wasn't as powerful as I thought they were we wouldn't be in this scenario to begin with. Do not underestimate their power to influence people.StCapps wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:28 pmIf the media is so powerful, then how did Donald Trump get elected in the first place?TheOneX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 12:06 pmEh, while it is a win for Republicans, I'm not convinced it is that big of a win. My neighborhood was bombarded with pamphleteers today and this weekend. So annoying. Living in the country hopefully sooner rather than later.

Good to see you CappsStCapps wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 1:18 amTrump has a 260 floor that includes
Texas, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, Georgia, Arizona and North Carolina (aka the fake swing states)
Biden has a 278 ceiling that includes
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada and New Hampshire (aka the real swing states)
a Biden win is not impossible, but it's not that likely either
Good Analysis.
Everyone has been trying to add up how Trump gets to 270, not if Biden can reach 270
