Good stuff! I did want to see what the men did for shelter at night during their 2 week hunting treks.

It's great stuff. I wish there was more footage and more detail. I'd really like to see how they actually butcher their moose in detail. I want to see their techniques. But, I'm guessing that is lost by now.

There’s a longer version here:

Also, there are a ton of these from the 80s about Inuit hunters.

The time for self sufficiency has come. Deny mega corps as much money as possible.

Start small, a little window planter with lettuce, onions or herbs.

Build on that.

Cleaned out the root cellar this weekend. We ended up tossing out about 40 spaghetti squash, some carrots and onions. They all went to chicken feed. We didn't pay close enough attention during December and should have been giving them away, we'll know next year.

We are still deep in potatoes. They were picked in September and are still nice and firm. We should easily get to Spring planting with them. Of the 120 lbs we harvested, we probably have about half left. Some of you might remember I was having trouble keeping potatoes long term last year. I was able to regulate the temperature and air flow to my root cellar better, plus I stored them in large cardboard fruit boxes you might find at a wholesale food supplier. I separated the layers with the little cardboard flats with indents for fruit. This and the temp-air control fixed the problem.

We also inventoried seeds and made our plan for the garden. It won't be long before we are starting seeds.

I got mine from a flea market - $20 each with spigots already installed.
