Florida has a very high crime rate, and it is a very very rare occurance for cops to die. There are many many occupations more dangerous than being a cop that make less. Soldiers also make shit, and in many cases their rules of engagement are actually more strict than cops are. Think about that for a second. Our armies in occupied enemy territory have more constraints on their behavior than police officers interacting with taxpayers who give them their salary.

When cops even think they are in danger, they will simply outnumber and kill the threat lol. They also do this when they are not in danger.

I know television likes to portray cops as being in these crazy gunfights every episode, but their reality is far more banal.

You act like less cops is a bad thing. If the pay decreases, then less people will want to be cops. To me, that is great. Maybe then they will have to decide whether it is worth their time to set up speed traps and do weed busts. Or they will have to get rid of some of their ex military toys. Fuck em.
