Oh wow, thanks for the tip. In the meantime, consider the possibiltity that if every American stopped behaving like a petulant child and wore a mask, transmissions would be more on par with other developed nations, such as South Korea, where most everybody does wear masks. Maybe we can actually get to the finish line without "liberty people" killing a few hundred thousand people? I dunno. Crazy talk. We might as well stay at the top of the covid death leaderboard, am I right!?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 3:30 pmYou probably don’t know this, but Respiratory viruses aren’t passed via urine. If everybody does it, then the odds that anybody gets sick at all diminish a great deal. I realize this is a difficult concept for liberty people to grasp here, but bear with me.. It's like when a dude doesn't wear any pants and he pisses on your leg. If you are wearing shorts, then you have no protection. If you are wearing pants, you get a little protection. If the other guy wears pants, then you probably are going to be okay. Don't be the jackass without pants. Wear a mask.

To loosen the isolation measures, we need probably millions of tests per day performed until everybody is vaccinated, and we need masks for every one. We might be able to make it work, but people have to start believing in math and science. If they actually believe this "it's just a flu, bro" nonsense, then they are unlikely to do a God damned thing to curb the spread of the disease.
In a way, conservatives are their own worse enemies here. I am starting to suspect it was a similar pattern of stupid back in 1918. They went through this same drama, with conservatives clamoring to open up the economy and causing the second wave that killed huge numbers of Americans.
Even if all they cared about was political preservation, I think conservatives should consider what is going to happen if their reopening plans result in mass fatalities during an election year.. just saying.. Ideology is a hell of a drug.

Great argument. Forget facts, logic, and science. Being intelligent is for pussies. Let's get sick, bros. I already proved with facts that can be backed up, that the third most courageous prone state in the union has barely a 1% chance of contagion spread through its population. (using the states own data) And that with a voluntary mask-wearing.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 3:57 pmGreat argument. Forget facts, logic, and science. What's your proof instead of Grabbing your mouth off?
On a note of data, your precious CDC reduced Mass’ death to from COVID by just shy of over 2000. 2009 to be exact.

I mean, TC is actually borderline retarded and I made a resolution to try not to punch down.
To the rest of you who should have known better.. It is my suspicion that most of you think nothing much will come of the disease if we just went straight back to business as usual, and that this belief is not based on evidence or any accurate math at all, but instead is an ideological belief. You prioritize markets and economy, which normally is a worthwhile position to take, but right now not so much. The problem for you (and potentially for hundreds of thousands of Americans) is that the evidence we have indicates you are a very wrong.
There are ways of loosening up the restrictions, but they involve widespread testing in a time when the Trump administration is trying to seize tests from states and stop the testing outside a narrow definition of who is eligible. We need to all wear masks in public to stop the spread of the disease in a society where probably at least a quarter of the population thinks the disease is a hoax and refuses to wear masks.
It kind of seems like you guys are going to get a lot of people needlessly killed. Then sometime next Winter, when the rest of us are pissed at you for doing it, you will refuse to accept blame for it. So why should anybody negotiate with you on this? I kind of see the point of those democrat governors fucking with you like they do. There is no way to negotiate with this ideological position.

It could be that "conservatives" hate science, worship money, and want everyone to die.
Or . . . it could be that conservatives have to work to feed their families, while wards of the state don't, so they're struggling with a multitude of problems and concerns that the idle know nothing about.
