That seems to be an advantage of the Parliamentary system. If there is a lack of majority in the House and nothing can get passed we usually end up with an election and start again.
In the US system, you just end up with lame duck Presidents unable to pass anything because they have lost one or both houses. That's how it seems to me anyway.
America is designed to prevent the Separated Powers from behaving like a Westminster Parliament

Americans did not actually revolt against George III, they revolted against Westminster
Is that an advantage though when you often get a whole second term where you just have a lame duck President?
It's not as if Obama didn't try to achieve things, he was just blocked at every turn by the Republicans. To have a system where the opposition has so much power seems doomed to failure unless you get a leader so popular that he can keep both houses for the duration of his presidency.
I've said my peace on it, I don't actually want to talk about Trump

Trump was interesting in 2016, it's gotten hella boring now

it's just pure entertainment

mind you, I don't think the POTUS is as important as the media makes the office out to be

mostly Presidents are trapped in the West Wing and don't actually have much control of anything

Obama had a smooth personality, he was polished, still got jack shit done.

I'm interested in the differences Smitty.
I don't claim to understand the American system as well as I understand mine. Why would I?
The US system appears designed to limit the power of the executive to such a point where his only recourse is to write executive orders if he wants to get anything done. This in turn makes him like some sort of King making royal decrees. That can't have been the original intention of the revolution.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Trump has been the most successful president in my lifetime.
Bold statement, care to back it up with an explanation?
America was lost to The New World Order. NO ONE ELSE would have had the balls to counteract them: renegotiate NAFTA, kill the TPP, put the breaks on “Free” Trade, THE WALL, lower Tax Rates to the Middle Class, 2 conservative SCOTUS, NO new wars, and recently, withdraw from WHO. Look at his rallies, for chrissakes: no president has been able to do that since Teddy Roosevelt. (Who Trump reminds me of. Modern egalitarians would have HATED Teddy.)

I'm not trying to discuss Trump here. I'm asking about the differences in the two systems.

The American system is designed to make gridlock, feature not a bug

You don't want to learn, whenever we try to teach you anything, you just say we're sucking Trump's dick, so it's a fools errand

They look like pretty subjective reasons to me. I might use several of them to argue why he is such a poor President.
