Doesn't stop the media from blaming Trump for it in a fit of TDS.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:42 pmIt's false though, the medication ingested wasn't the one touted by TrumpBjornP wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:41 pmThis is the only BBC news story I could find on it, and the only non-quote they write is:

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

This instance is a prime example of that dynamic. BBC got the TDS real bad, it doesn't get any more TDS than that headline.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:45 pmYes but, BBC bad - Orange man good.BjornP wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:41 pmThis is the only BBC news story I could find on it, and the only non-quote they write is:

The more intriguing part is the level of panic out there that would incite people to just taking random drugs willy nilly

Should probably have linked to, and quoted the sub-headline that preceded my quote:
https://www.bbc.com/news/52012242
So, it's not saying that the medicine that the couple ingested was the same as the one touted by Trump. An Arizona man has died and his wife is in a critical condition after both ingested a form of chloroquine in an apparent effort to guard against Covid-19.
The drug has been touted by President Donald Trump as a possible treatment for the virus.

This couple didn't even have any symptoms, they didn't have the virus, nor did they even think they had it. They took it because they thought it prevented getting Coronavirus if you take it, and mixed fish tank cleaner into their soda, when the package had "not for human consumption" written right on it. The wife in rough shape as well, she's lucky she didn't kill herself too.

the headline should read "man ingests the wrong medicine in a panic"

It wasn't even medicine. It was fish tank cleaner, and one ingredient of that fish tank cleaner was hydroxychlorqine, that wasn't even the ingredient that killed him. It's like one of those Florida Man stories, and the media think there is hay to be made attacking Trump over it.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:53 pmTrump didn't tout using the veterinary formulaBjornP wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:49 pmShould probably have linked to, and quoted the sub-headline that preceded my quote:
