Re: What Book Are You Reading at the Moment?
One thing I learned recently was that when Stalin liquidated nearly every war time officer it was because they were actually incompetent. They were in that position because they were early party members during the revolution. The leaders he replaced them with had come up through modern military schooling. I've always heard this decision to be attributed to his paranoia and insecurity but it was likely more because the officers themselves were shit.

Nah he killed a bunch of good generals. Even Voroshilov who was one of the biggest kiss asses in the army told him after the Leningrad siege that he brought the German invasion on himself by eliminating the best generals. Voroshilov was completely talentless and got his position strictly out of loyalty. Stalin knew he fucked up when the invasion started. He fucked up so bad that he went on a bender for a few days and thought the dudes who came to ask for his orders were there to purge/execute him. They should have.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:14 pmOne thing I learned recently was that when Stalin liquidated nearly every war time officer it was because they were actually incompetent. It wasn't administered under the USSR because Stalin was not a communist though.

Yeah but I follow revisionist history you follow mainstream history. For all you know everything you've heard is a lie. Generals calling other generals shit is normal. Check out the first five minutes of this podcast.heydaralon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:20 pmNah he killed a bunch of good generals. Lenin was not a hardcore communist, he refused to execute any of the tenants of his own revolution, didn't have the courage of his convictions in the end, it was only Stalin who had the iron will to impose collectivization, but he didn't do it for the World Socialist Revolution, quite the opposite.

Lenin apparently had close to three billion dollars in swiss bank accounts when he died. Stalin died one of the richest men in the world as well.

Just before he died, Lenin warned the Bolsheviks of Stalin's intentions, but since those intentions were to impose the collectivization which Lenin did not have the courage of convictions for, sort of pokes a hole in the whole "Lenin was a hardcore communist" theory.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:41 pmLenin apparently had close to three billion dollars in swiss bank accounts when he died. Lenin's primary motivation was Anti-Czarist vengeance for his brother, Peace, Bread & Land merely a rubric.

Lenin was every bit as bad as Stalin. He fought in a Civil War that killed 15 million Russians. He brutally put down the Kronstadt rebellion. He approved of tactics such as using families as hostages. He committed genocides against Cossacks and other groups. He annihilated peasants he felt were withholding grain. Lenin had far more convictions for his cause than any Western politician of the last 150 years. He practiced Marxism in a far more determined way than even Marx did (who would often denounce people who applied his principles because he didn't want to be politically tainted by the real world result).
Your argument that Stalin took a more insular (socialism in one country view) does not hold up at all either. Stalin despite his rhetoric was exponentially more internationalist than any Commie ruler in history. He annexed half of Europe and the USSR kept it for half a century. Mao, Pol Pot, and Kim's propaganda was all based on national purity too. They all created insular communities that were obsessed with foreign contamination and self policed and controlled every aspect of life. If Stalin wasn't a communist, then neither were they.
Additionally, you have expressed the desire to hang lefties from lamp posts. If you have actually met or seen on youtube any lefty that even comes close to Lenin or Stalin in both their convictions or strength, I'd be interested in seeing them. The lefties we have today are iphone using ladyboy faggots. Lenin, Ho, Stalin, and Mao would sell them for parts. You must be trolling.

Lenin promoted Stalin to the most powerful positions in the USSR. He talked shit about Stalin in his will, but he also dissed Trotsky and everyone else. What he most likely wanted was for these guys to rule as a comittee. He certainly didn't want them to stop being Communists.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 4:03 pmJust before he died, Lenin warned the Bolsheviks of Stalin's intentions, but since those intentions were to impose the collectivization which Lenin did not have the courage of convictions for, sort of pokes a hole in the whole "Lenin was a hardcore communist" theory.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:41 pmLenin apparently had close to three billion dollars in swiss bank accounts when he died. Smitty, I like you. More than almost everyone on here (except Brewster who has the best takes on Climate Change). But if you keep this up I'm going to label you as Smitty Warren Sanders. My Grandfather fought in World War 2. He nearly died more than once. If he saw the commie apologist way you are trying to steer this forum he'd be rolling in his grave right now.
