Why not include the American Revolution which after all preceeded the French? Angry envious American 18th century gentlemen angry at their betters; i.e. their rightful king, their rightful parliament and the laws that rightfully governed them, all of them just pretending to fight to correct imaginary "injustices" perpetrated against them?

They had a better case. No taxation without representation. The British parliament had a lot of chances to put it right but they chose to be pigheaded about it and they got their just desserts. The American Revolution was a very rational affair. They got pushed to the brink and they pushed back. Once they had their independence no one tried to establish som kind of utopian egalitarian state. The business of America is business, and business was good.BjornP wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 1:48 pmWhy not include the American Revolution which after all preceeded the French? Funny thing about that, the British agreed to take the tax away, but the time the message got back to the states, the war was on.Hastur wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:26 pmThey had a better case. Nonsense they had. Either you believe fighting against one's betters, fighting against the proper established order, the proper hierachy, is wrong ... or you're a revolutionary who wants more of an equal society. America's the original Commie experiment.. (with Commie meaning anyone who wants to fight against their betters and the natural order of society, of course).Hastur wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:26 pm

"No taxation without representation" was just bullshit invented by people who wanted more equality. In fact, the very notion hinges on the assumption that the taxpayer has some sort of right to dictate that he be "represented", when there already were perfectly well-bred, proper aristocratic men of quality who represented what was best for them in the English houses of parliament. The American revolution was an irrational revolution against man's proper place in life: "All men are created equal" it says in their declaration of independence. That's plainly just Commie talk for "I don't accept that a bunch of men in white wigs on the other side of the Atlantic who call themselves our betters, get to dictate how we govern ourselves".
See? Them be envious people who just wanted to lash out at their betters...

Yes you are right. It was a Bourgeoisie revolution. The merchants wrestled the power from King and Nobility. Power now derived from capital, not land. No care was given to the proletariat.
But it would take one more war to get rid of the landed gentry once and for all. In the south they tried to hack the new system by using humans as capital.

Scandinavian airline SAS pulls their new add after less than a day. "Unexpected negative reactions". Probably Russian bots-

Well, fuck those people. Scandinavian ethnicities are superstars of our common heritage. People from the rest of the world do not flock there because Scandinavians are of no account.

The backlash is Epic. I wouldn't want to be at SAS marketing or the Danish marketing firm that produced the ad today.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:24 amHastur wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:19 amSAS marketing department must be like.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:17 am

Even the SAS pilots union has come out against it.
I mean, why even go with
What is truly Scandinavian? - Nothing
instead of
What is truly Scandinavian? - Everything
If they wanted to make that point but still be positive. But no. People have to be told off for some reason.
