Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Fuck Rush, I despise them. Even Mrs Smitty despises them.
I had a lot of freinds at school who were into 2112 big time.
It did nothing for me.
The only prog rock concept album I ever bought was this one...
I never liked their music, pretentious musician studio rock, so overrated.

But then I met them face to face, and that's when I got a hate on for them.

only faggots don't like red barchetta

The song describes a future in which many classes of vehicles have been prohibited by "the Motor Law". The narrator's uncle has kept one of these illegal vehicles (the titular red barchetta sportscar) in pristine condition for some "fifty-odd years" and keeps it hidden at his secret country home (previously a farm before the enactment of the aforementioned Motor Law). During one of his weekly drives, the narrator encounters an "alloy air car" that begins to chase him along the roads. A second such vehicle soon joins the pursuit, which continues until the narrator drives his Barchetta across a one-lane bridge that is too narrow for the air cars. The song ends with the narrator returning safely to his uncle's farm.

One of my troops was a Rush fan, so he went over to praise them.

They gave him the back of their hands, because he was a soldier.

I then proceeded to tell them off, Peart then proceeded to play the tough guy, so I took my jacket off and said lets go.

My girlfriend at the time talked me out of it, pointing out that he was a multi millionaire who would just sue me into the poor house.

No, she was right, it was Kobayashi Maru, I would have ended up in jail and then sued.

He had no idea who he was messing with, back then I was a monster, but that would have backfired.

I would have ended up being Quasimodo in the dock, for pummeling a beloved Canadian rock star.

I never forget their sneering conceit tho, I've despised them ever since.

You'll have to settle for the ultimate victory of outliving him then.

My girlfriend was saving me from myself.

It's like one night a couple of my troops got into it with some guy on the street, and they killed him.

You don't realize your own strength at that age, with the unarmed combat training on top.
