The British System is best. I was trained by it and on it. If you want free, there's the NHS, and it's fine but Americans would have to get used to the Cattle feel; and if you want to be treated special, 40% of their population uses U.S.-style insurance-based private healthcare. But here's the rub: because the alternative is free, the private healthcare costs are kept in check, and because there's an option, if someone wants free of the bureaucracy, there's the private system. Best of both worlds, but the mass immigration is breaking the NHS. (Monte's responsible for that.)

Also, many immigrants from the EU come here when they are young and rarely ill. They pay taxes and help fund the NHS while they are here and go back home when they have enough money to bankroll a new life.

As Monte says, move along, nothing to see here; the NHS is doing fine and needs no further funding.

Even Boris is pledging to spend more to make up for the cuts that his party has made.
Blaming the immigrants for waiting lists when it's Tory cuts responsible is par for the course though.
The Lib Dems are the only ones pledging to raise taxes to improve things. One penny on income tax which will raise £35 billion to add to the £100 billion currently spent.

They forgot to tell them its only true if money is no object for you. Millions have found that even if they have insurance a major health event will bankrupt them or leave them deep in debt.

Great way to ensure willing wage slaves though. Can afford to lose that coverage in case you or your family get ill.

I remember back when we had the rare Corporate Capital Punishment of Arthur Andersen Inc, people were beating their breast about the poor employees. "How dare you punish all those innocent people!"
