If you want free, there's the NHS, and it's fine but Americans would have to get used to the Cattle feel; and if you want to be treated special, 40% of their population uses U.S.-style insurance-based private healthcare. But here's the rub: because the alternative is free, the private healthcare costs are kept in check, and because there's an option, if someone wants free of the bureaucracy, there's the private system. Best of both worlds, but the mass immigration is breaking the NHS. (Monte's responsible for that.)

Also, many immigrants from the EU come here when they are young and rarely ill. They pay taxes and help fund the NHS while they are here and go back home when they have enough money to bankroll a new life.
