Brewster is literally slamming sports because some people are better than others at them, and he hates on competition that doesn't produce absolute equity among all players.
I'm all for athletics and competition. I'm just not wasting my life watching other people do it and caring deeply whether they win or not, nor for teaching kids compliance with an authoritarian system.
Learning how to be part of a team, totally useless life skill, whatever you do, don't teach kids that.
Teamwork is learning when to pass the basketball or how to guard your quarterback, not sitting complacently on the bench waiting your turn to play in a few years.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Learning to play a role on a team is learning teamwork, sitting on the bench is part of that. Everyone sits on the bench at some point, just because some sit longer than others is not a bad thing, if everyone was equally good that would make sports pretty boring. If you don't want to sit on the bench as long, get better at the sport, and stop demanding playing time be handed to people when their play doesn't merit it.

Even when the only reason they're on the bench is the coach wants to win by 50 pts instead of 35? If I didn't want to sit on the bench I'd find a sport without a bench, like fencing or track. But the industrial sports complex emphasizes the big team sports that feed the pro leagues.

Big article this weekend about football's Grand Poobahs panicking about the shrinkage in youth participation. People ask me all the time if I'm scared about my son's rock climbing. I tell them I'd rather he be doing it than playing football or riding a motorcycle.

When teams are up big, they sit their starters more often, to keep them healthy and shit, so you are speaking out of ignorance. You don't know how sports work and are judging them based on hypotheticals that don't happen.

The whole point of this thread branch was that was NOT what the HS coach in question did, despite there being a "max win" rule whose whole point was to keep the game going and let the benchers play rather than just being a mercy rule that ends the game once they hit a certain lead.

All rules are for pussies when you get right down to it, right?

Even though it obvious she is going to lose? It's not who you want to win, it's who do you think will win.
Well there's no option for Bloomberg up there, but....
 That is why I said Beto! You just replaced one gun grabber with another. Dirty dick jumping from one gun grabber to another.
Eh? You really are single-issue it seems. Easily led.

We’ve all seen the logic that Biden/Warren/Bernie are unelectable. Now the NY banksters have sent out a ‘savior’ at the buzzer, to tie things up. Seems to me, he’s probably got a few aces up his sleeve.

Tulsi is still my favorite, but if I had to pick somebody more likely, it’d be Bloomberg.

But got DAMN that girl can fight.

SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

I had a huge chuckle this week from a letter in the Times citing Biden's age as the reason they were supporting Bloomberg. Bloomberg is a year older!

I'm still sticking with Warren, she's a much better public speaker, though against Bloomberg that is admittedly a low bar. 8 years ago I voted in the primary for Hillary because I thought a black man was unelectable. I think the electability thing can be overrated.

That said I think she's seriously fucked up with the 6% billionaire tax proposal. There was a decent argument for 3%, it would simply slow the growth of their fortunes, but 6% starts to be an existential threat.
