Created a Petition on the White House Website to stop targeted in-game gambling (loot boxes)

You basically want to ban booster packs of pokemon cards, in the name of "protecting the children". That's all a loot box is, you dumb fuck.

Parents can control the credit card there, they have to physically take it out of their wallet to hand it over for the card, they can say no to more than a specific amount. Games that offer purchases in game for that kind of stuff don't have limitations, and in many cases I've seen people complain about $100+ charges on their cards for something that they thought was "just a game"... after the initial purchase.

That's still on the parents, they have control over that too. None of the minor differences you mention mean it should be banned. If the kid can't play the game without buying dumb shit that you don't want them to, don't buy them games that allow them to do that, problem solved, no law required.
