I don't bash you for your creative writing, I wish there was more of that here.
Thing is, I'm basically an oversized boy, I'm not into that girly shit, why can't you write something that boys like?
Because you don't know what the book is about, except by my quip about it, you are assuming it's "girly"... far from it, but you can assume all you want... and be wrong.
Are there explosions? Does anyone get shot?
General description of what happens to multiple characters within the first 1/2 of the book: Shot, killed, decapitated by a hammer... beaten into a comma, thrown out a window...
On top of that, further into the book, you get a person's mind is destroyed from within their own body. Another absorbed and killed by a god-like creature.
I can keep going?

I read most of the 10 chapters and found it rolled along at a decent rate.
It's no Terry Pratchet or Tolkein but I'd read more if TC posted it for free.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

What's the hook tho?
There has to be some sort of hook.
What's the conflict? Who is fighting who over what?

Not trying to be, but I'll take that compliment.

Oh it's Sword & Sorcery shit?
Fuck that, I read Tolkien, that's all you ever need to read in that genre.
I like historical fiction, actual middle ages, actual antiquity, but there is only one Middle Earth, don't try to be JRR

I eagerly await the first few chapters of Smitty's Sci-fi to compare.

Thing about fantasy, I can't suspend disbelief for a made up Dungeons & Dragons world.
For fantasy I only like Sci fi, because there could be a fantastical future, but there never was a Middle Earth.

I'm not a novelist, I'm more of a script writer, I'm always thinking movies not books.

How about this, I'll let you read the 10 chapters, and you can decide what you think the hook is? Tell me what you think it is.

Talk about being narrow-minded...
