A mate of mine bumped into a bunch of British Army special forces guys there one year. They'd been given the task of getting there with no money, sneaking in and living for free for the week. They were having a great time.
To each his own, although when I worked with UKSF, every single trooper we met was a Scot, the only English were the officers.
Weren't you stationed in Scotland though?
This was in Wales, Cambrian Patrol.

The Irish were the craziest I ever met when I worked on the training camps.
They used to lose one every now and again in the field. They pushed them really hard.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Ulster men are hardcore of the hardcore, that's true, but the Scots dominate UKSF in terms of numbers.

In the ranks at least, not so many officers, but the Squadrons are disproportionately Scots.

I have two buddies, brothers, who were with 21 (V) SAS in London, they're Welsh, but there's a lot of Scots in the Artists Rifles too.
