She should do it.
She could try but would fail.
The Army swear allegiance to the Queen but take their orders from Parliament.
Does Parliament go to combat zones with them, or does the royal family?

When Parliament rolled the last time, they were serving in the New Model Army. These clowns would not risk anything. They have no skin in the game and thus no respect from those that do.

The royal family, though.. They take risks. They go to wars Parliament declares..
Many MPs are ex-military.
The former leader of the Lib's Paddy Ashdown was ex SBS.
Airey Neave was the first British soldier to escape from Colditz and was murdered by the IRA when he was an MP.
Winston Churchill had a long military career in the Army.

There are currently 49 MPs who have served in the military and 47 members of the House of Lords.

There are currently no members of the Royal family in the armed forces.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Out of 650 seats, only 49 of them actually ever placed their own lives at risk. The rest are keen to send other people to fight and die. No skin in the game.

Meanwhile..

I think I know exactly how that would go down. There would be no repeat whatsoever.

That's a lot higher ratio than the general public.
Neither of the first two in line to the throne saw active service. In fact you have to go down to 6th in line to the throne before you get to Harry who did see active service.
Immediate heirs to the throne are protected from active service and Harry was in fact criticised for doing so as it made him and his unit special targets of the enemy forces.

Which, really, is an irrelevant fact to hang one's laurels upon.

I have not spent time with your troops since the 90s, but those guys don't strike me as the SJW types. At all. I think they are more like Smitty than like a twink.

Nobody who serves respects chickenhawks either.

And when you add the fact that they all swore oaths of allegiance to the monarch.. Parliament is fucked. The fact that American troops all swore blood oaths to uphold the Constitution is what keeps Washington running.

The Chinese army swears allegiance to the communist party.

Oaths matter. That tells you the tale right there. The source of power of a civilization is to whom or what the warriors give their oaths.

Nope, it is who they take their orders from ie Parliament.
Parliamentary supremacy is the foundation of British democracy as was proven in the commons today.
Even Brussels takes a back seat to Parliament.
Our elected representatives in Parliament hold the reins of power.
Her Majesty is a figurehead with no real power. Which is as it should be in a constitutional monarchy.

Parliament had a vote on who should control the agenda in Parliament.
The choice was the Government or Parliament.
Parliament won and now have the opportunity to pass a bill to ensure there is no no-deal Brexit.
There are 3 days left before Parliament is suspended (if the courts allow a suspension).
The govt lost its majority when a Tory MP crossed the house and joined the Lib' Dem's.
Boris threw 21 Tory rebels out of the party including Churchill's grandson and the father of the house.
Boris has threatened to call a general election but doesn't have the 2/3rds majority needed to succeed in calling for an early election.

It's been a busy day.
It's hilarious really.
The leader of the government is calling for an early election after losing his majority and booting 21 MPs out of the party but the leader of the opposition party is refusing to back his call despite having spent the last year calling for one.

Meanwhile
Jacob Rees-Mogg faced criticism this evening for ‘lounging back’ in his seat during an emergency debate on Brexit. The Leader of the House seemed very relaxed ahead of a crucial vote when a rebel alliance of MPs voted to seize control of Commons business. Labour’s Anna Turley MP described him as looking like ‘the physical embodiment of arrogance, entitlement, disrespect and contempt for our parliament.’ He was called out during the debate by Green Party MP Caroline Lucas for his ‘contemptuous’ body language. She said: ‘For the benefit of Hansard, the leader of the house has been spread across around three seats, lying down as if that was something very boring for him to listen to tonight.’

Wrong. The Queen is not just a figure head, she is the country, and she has real power, she just lets others exercise that power on her behalf.
