Boris Johnson secretly agreed to suspend parliament in mid-August, explosive court documents reveal – two weeks before denying the plan existed.
An email was sent to the prime minister and Dominic Cummings, his chief aide, entitled “Ending The Session”, which says “we should prorogue” from 9 September.
It was revealed in Edinburgh's Court of Session, which is hearing a legal challenge to stop parliament being shut down for five weeks, preventing MPs making any further moves on the Brexit crisis.Three days before the shock prorogation plan was announced last week, Downing Street strongly denied any such intention to send MPs home.
But the documents disclosed to the court include a hand-written note from Mr Johnson, dated 16 August, arguing “the whole September sessions is a rigmarole”, dismissing its importance. The prime minister’s words read: “I don't see anything shocking about this decision” to prorogue.
There was no immediate comment from Downing Street about the documents, which again shine the spotlight on the prime minister’s honesty. No 10 was already facing fierce criticism because, on 25 August, a spokesman said “the claim that the government is considering proroguing parliament in September in order to stop MPs debating Brexit is entirely false”.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Yup, and I responded directly to the only words he wrote to accompany the story.Speaker to Animals wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:18 am Hastur posted a video about a discussion on history. Look at the very next post.
I wish I had a prime minister who could debate a renowned historian like this.

I have addressed your opinions plenty already, you just have the memory of a goldfish and think I only ever said BDS. You want to bring up a new point, go ahead, I'll tear it down like it ain't no thang, or maybe you actually have a legit beef or two and just lead with all crappy arguments instead.Montegriffo wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:15 amThere you go again, failing to address an opinion you don't like and going for straight to BDS.StCapps wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:12 amYeah, like we haven't had this discussion before, where I've pointed out the holes in your BoJo hate ad nauseum. Boris has now lost his majority in the house after Conservative MP Phillip Lee crossed the floor of the house to the Lib' Dem's during today's Parliamentary session.

Oh, the managerial no-skin-in-the-game class betrayed the electorate. Surprise, surprise.

Nope, Hastur addressed my opinion but all you have done is spam up the thread with tired old cliches and brags about how your opinion is the best opinion, as per usual.StCapps wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:28 amI have addressed your opinions plenty already, you just have the memory of a goldfish and think I only ever said BDS. StA is right, you rarely bring any original content to the table.
I shall not respond to any more of your spam.

That's one way of looking at it.Speaker to Animals wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2019 8:37 am Oh, the managerial no-skin-in-the-game class betrayed the electorate. Surprise, surprise.![]()
However, the MP himself has said he no can longer serve his constituent's interests as a Tory. He said the government was "pursuing a damaging Brexit in unprincipled ways.. putting lives and livelihoods at risk."

These people are all incompetent. It's really amazing they can't just figure out how to finish this thing. They obviously are deliberately scuttling it.

In a letter to the prime minister, Dr Lee said Brexit divisions had "sadly transformed this once great party into something more akin to a narrow faction in which one's Conservatism is measured by how recklessly one wants to leave the European Union".
"Perhaps more disappointingly, it has become infected by the twin diseases of English nationalism and populism."
He said the Lib Dems - who back another referendum on Brexit and want the UK to remain in the EU - were best placed to "heal the divisions" and "overcome the challenges we face as a society."
