Re: Europe, Boring Until it's Not
I feel sorry for her.
PM during the Brexit crisis was always going to be a poison chalice.
Back stabbed by her own cabinet just like the great John Major was.
No majority in Parliament and a queue of "right honourable" friends behind her after her job.
I think her deal was the best she could get from the EU.
Trouble is that the deal we already had with the EU was better and the Brexit hard liners were never going to be happy with anything other than a clean break.
Bo-Jo is the forerunner by a long way to replace her but the favourite rarely wins a Tory party leader contest.
Could be the weaselly Michael Gove or maybe Amber Rudd.
Don't think it's likely but if Jacob Rees-Mogg wins I'm moving to France early.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I don't feel sorry for her a bit.
1. She was in charge. Is was up to her. When the big challenge came, she failed. She was not up to it.
2. If women want to be taken seriously on the big stage, if they want to be taken seriously as leaders, there is no feeling sorry for them. It's an insult to all this Feminism BS to feel sorry for a woman who fails and make excuses why she failed.
3. There's no crying in Baseball. H/T Arc Light.
She was all smiles when she was on top and everything was going fine. She fucks up and here comes the waterworks. She's destroying the idea that women can be strong leaders, she a disgrace to the legacy of Margaret Thatcher.

I'm not alone
Theresa May Undermines Women in Politics
Remember when women's rights advocates were thrilling to the fact that New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern donned an instrument of female oppression-- the hijab? Maybe you don't. ………………..
Now, we have the pitiful spectacle of the stubborn and incompetent Theresa May crying over the fact that she failed to lead her nation out of the European Union. When Margaret Thatcher was a wildly successful prime minister, she showed the women can lead as effectively as men. It was a great leap forward for women.
Now, Theresa May has given it all away. Her failed prime ministership is a great leap backward for women. Nothing like few tears to demonstrate enhanced sensitivity and some extra special empathy. Even though said sensitivity did not work in May's favor when she needed to do her job.
Perhaps the long overdue May resignation was not as great a leap backward as was the candidacy of American's supremely incompetent fraud Hillary Clinton... but, whatever your politics, today is not a great day for women.

2/ I don't feel sorry for her because she is a woman.
Brexit is a really stupid idea and it was doomed to failure from the start.
3/ Fuck that noise.
May has been called a robot with no emotions for her entire time as leader and now she shows some genuine feelings everybody jumps on her.
By the way, the milk snatcher blubbed like a baby when she was pushed out.

What you have to remember is that Jeremy Corbyn was the alternative.
If Nigel Farage's latest come back goes well he could split the Conservative vote and we end up with 1970's Socialism under Labour and a second referendum on Brexit.
Aquitaine is looking sweeter by the day.

I didn't know that, thanks. Let's see how the press handles it this time.BjornP wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 1:22 pmhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9100770/m ... -minister/By the way, the milk snatcher blubbed like a baby when she was pushed out.
But can we take women seriously as leaders if they start to cry when shit gets bad ?
I know it would be a kick in the nuts to my confidence in a leader.

Women should be treated like men. Period.
She failed. She has to go. Destroy her career and move on, no differently than you would had she been a man.

Churchill used to cry at the drop of a hat.
He blubbed once when he saw a line of people during the blitz queueing for pet food.
