It's not about being convinced. It's about understanding what the other guy means. Even if he's wrong, there's no harm in gaining an understanding of why he's wrong.

That's part of the problem. The "I'm right, you are wrong" mentality. Why even try and get someone to understand your viewpoint if that person is never going to even consider that maybe you are not "wrong". Maybe there is no wrong or right, and somewhere in the middle is solution? Nope, today its I'm right, you're wrong, and it doesn't matter what you say.

I am done trying to get far left nuts to understand my stance on things. They do not care to understand my views or opinions. They only listen so that they can reply back with how wrong I am. That or they pivot into something in the parrot spectrum of it's because of white privilege, ignorance, or racism that my view is a certain way. I just lurked at a couple of forums I once participated in regularly. I left when they went full SJW/far left. The mods helped it along just like the MSM sites did with their "news" organizations. Discussions back then were of how they were all 100% that Trump colluded with Russia and how he was going to go down for it.

Now those threads have completely died off. In their place are threads about how Trump 100% obstructed and how he needs to go down for that. No mention of Russia collusion, no admission of the failures of the investigation. Now it nothing but how the Mueller reports proves Trump obstructed and needs to be impeached and go to jail.

If he ever does anything truly and intentionally corrupt or illegal, like say, run an illegal server with classified information in his home, it will fall of deaf ears to those who already see the endless witch hunts as a bunch of lies. They are fools that cannot be reasoned with. We really need to divide the country up into red and blue and be done with it. I don't see any more peaceful resolution to this madness.
