Simple.

How 'bout you save the world and I'll just sit back here and thwap your hand every time you try to make people's short lives on earth even more miserable and unbearable in your quest to "save the world".
Wasn't me that tried to make this a personal/individual challenge but once it went there I am happy to compare my footprint to anyone else here.DBTrek wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 3:51 pmMontegriffo wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 3:49 pm I challenge anyone to show they have a smaller carbon footprint than me.
Right.
With such a stellar track record on carbon footprint assertions it only makes sense that Monte would now want to take the challenge down to the individual level.

... since there is no data to support anyone's individual claim maybe he can win this one, eh?
I'm not forcing anyone to do anything.DBTrek wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:05 pm Keep at it.
The world needs you.
Just stop trying to force everyone else to poop like baboons and eat like donkeys.
the only way you could compete with my carbon footprint is by euthanizing yourself. I literally took carbon out of the atmosphere based on how little I consume. I've calculated it on Brewster's WalkApp.Montegriffo wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:09 pm

I just lead by example.
Sorry you can't compete.

You're letting them define the playing field when they don't believe the game is real. Not one of them believes global warming is real, or that it's worth changing even the slightest behavior. The entirety of this dialog has been denial, deflection and fictions. Like the fact that China is a bigger net emitter of CO2 absolves us of doing anything all to reduce our fossil fuel consumption. It's like a thief asking the judge to set him free just because someone else stole more.Montegriffo wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:02 pm Wasn't me that tried to make this a personal/individual challenge but once it went there I am happy to compare my footprint to anyone else here.
Who else only uses solar energy to run their home?
No a/c.
No fossil fuels to heat my home.
Composting toilet using zero water and zero energy to recycle my waste.
No meat in my diet.

I still fail to understand why conservatives in general have been so hostile to environmentalism for the past 60 years. Is it simply greed, that it might cost them something? Partly, but I think it's also "I'm free to do whatever I want, and if I want to pollute and destroy the earth, that's my right". A 'tragedy of the commons' variant.
