Re: President Andrew Yang
UBI is a stupid idea, period.
EVERYONE starting out with $0 and working for more money is the same as EVERYONE starting with $5,000,000 and working for more.
A fast food burger is, what, like $1.49? If everyone gets $5mil, it'll be $1.49 PLUS the cost inflation of EVERYONE starting at $5mil instead of zero.
How is this not clear to people?
Or better yet . . . how come no one calls bullshit on these cities and nations that "test" UBI by giving money to a sample set of 500 people? The 'U' in UBI stands for UNIVERSAL, dummies. If you aren't "testing" it out on EVERYONE then you aren't testing UBI. You're testing giving a few hundred people more money. Derp.
Everyone knows when you give a few hundred people more money, then those few hundred have more buying power. When you give EVERYONE the same amount of money, prices will simply adjust to everyone's new economic starting point of $X instead of $0.

And that new economic starting point, results in more spending, which drives economic growth. Can't spend $0.DBTrek wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:08 pmUBI is a stupid idea, period.

Stimulus for only the banks does not work as well as stimulus for all, freedom dividend ftw.

Negative Income Tax, is simply another form of UBI, if you want to do it that way instead, I'm down, and so is Milton Friedman.

Whether you buy a burger for $1.49, or for an adjusted $10,241.79 for it (because everyone starts with $5mil) is irrelevant. You still bought one burger. Using a wheelbarrow full of money to pay for it hasn't driven any more spending.StCapps wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:15 pmAnd that new economic starting point, results in more spending, which drives economic growth. Negative income tax isn't UBI.
You and the trust funder wise up, and stay in your lanes.

It's the same thing, faggot. Same concept, slightly different implementation, your hair splitting aside.
