f you were around in the '80s, you might recall the widespread fear over the discovery of a massive hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica. It's still there, but NASA says 2017 delivered a daintier hole than usual.

The last time the ozone hole was this small was in 1988 when Bobby McFerrin was burning up the charts with "Don't Worry Be Happy" and acid-wash jeans were the height of fashion.

Thank god women quit using hair spray. Seriously. That is a good thing. For the environment too I guess.

I find it odd that Penner is bragging about the new found tightness of certain holes.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

We just got out of our coldest February on record. We bottomed out at -35 F (-37C). I have a steady population of about 6 wild rabbits, not too many to create trouble, just nice to see. After we got above 0 I still was not seeing them. I've seen 3 so far in the last couple days. I'm reminded of the cycles of nature and the beauty of both life and the harshness of our planet. So, some nature gifs for fun.

I’ve finally got my dream job. Database Administrator for a big company, 5 miles from home. I get to have lunch with my kids every day, and I’m fully engaged with what I do for the first time in forever.

My good things:

1. Young gorillas have learned to dismantle poachers traps

Days after a poacher's trap killed a young mountain gorilla in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park in 2012, researchers spotted something remarkable: two four-year old gorillas working together to dismantle similar snares in the area.
