You reminded me to add
Hawkeye - MASH
to my list.
Certainly a memorable character, but not my favorite. I disliked him in the later seasons, because every time he opened his mouth, it was just one of those lists.... can't remember a specific, but along the lines of, "I'll carry your lunch, I'll carry you over, I'll carry you under, but I won't carry you something something." Remember those?

MASH is probably my all time favorite, but purely from a warm-n-fuzzy memory POV, at this point, since there is so much good television, now. The final episode was a nation-wide event. I still remember going to the grocery store with my mom just before; the snack aisles were insane.

Potter was a great character. Remember when Morgan played the loony general in a MASH episode while Henry was CO? Great actor.

MASH is one of the greatest shows of all time, not many shows these days are as good as MASH. Nostalgia or no nostalgia, it holds up.

Nerd loves that theme song, a lot. He reminds me almost daily, (sometimes several times a day,) by humming it. It's either that or the theme from Miami Vice.

It's the only show that my family had in common growing up. Mom, dad, brother, sister & me. Good family time memories.

There were a few shows that were pretty universal in my area that were family time.

MASH
Bonanza
Hee Haw
Walt Disney Sunday Night
All in the Family ~ Archie Bunker, one of the greatest characters of all time

and my Dad watched Star Trek, which was odd, he was the last guy you'd pick to watch that show. He corrupted me.

My brother has watched a lot of really good television thanks to me, says I kind of ruined television for him because he's already seen all the best shows, and whenever he's watching something he hasn't seen, it not living up to the standard of the creme de la creme, he says it prevents him from enjoying it as much as he otherwise would.

My dad has seen bits and pieces of The Sopranos, neither of my parents have seen The Wire, but I did get both of them to watch Breaking Bad after they got hooked on Better Call Saul.

Personally though, I don't hold it against a TV show, that it isn't as good as Breaking Bad, The Wire or The Sopranos, I enjoy them for what they are and can avoid feeling jaded by shows that are still great, yet aren't the best of the best. Not every show can be as good as the creme de la creme, so no point in expecting them to be, that's how I see it anyway.

Don't forget Wild Kingdom from the good folks at Mutual of Omaha.

Who else slipped around the house to catch Three's Company?

OMFG

'This is Marlin Perkins safely in this helicopter. Watch as Jim single handedly takes on the most dangerous animal in the world by himself and barefoot.

Oh, it looks like Jim is in trouble. He could be killed at any moment.

We have all these people here who could help, but we won't lift a finger. Lets see how Jim does.

Oops, looks like Jim just lost an arm. Rub some dirt on it Jim and get back in there.'

So Hee Haw was something I watched with my grandmother, but not the rest of my family. Walt Disney wasn't my brother's thing, etc.

I watched all of these on your list. The fun part about Archie Bunker is my dad thought that's who Caroll O'Conner was. O'Conner was the original SJW and poked fun at racists and homophobic types through Archie. My dad related to Archie, bigly.
