Re: What are you watching?
"Ourselves"/Sinn Féin (/ˌʃɪn ‖ ˈfeɪn/) ("ourselves" or "we ourselves") and Sinn Féin Amháin ("ourselves only / ourselves alone / solely us") are Irish-language phrases used as a political slogan by Irish nationalists in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. While advocating Irish national self-reliance, its precise political meaning was undefined, variously interpreted as the aim of a separate Irish republic or (as advocated by Arthur Griffith) that of a dual monarchy. Its earliest use was to describe individual political radicals unconnected with any party and espousing a more "advanced nationalism" than the Irish Home Rule movement. In the 1890s "Sinn Féin, Sinn Féin amháin" was the slogan of the Gaelic League,[1][2] which advocated the revival of the Irish language.

I have actually been enjoying Star Trek Discovery, normally I don't like Star Trek, but for some reason I've gotten hooked, prolly Michelle Yeoh.

It looks aesthetically pleasing and has good actors in it. I have a negative bias for movies that try to make you root for the robots or humanize them or blur the lines etc. I haven't seen it and might not ever see it. Thats just the impression I get from the trailer and synopsis.

Netflix Altered Carbon. They changed it up from the books, but not so they wrecked it, more just simplified it a bit, which actually works better for tv.

Ok, so is it subversive in that it questions the standard protocol thinking going on today? With as few spoilers as possible. (its in theaters so im not seeing it for a while most likely but if its that damn good i might go see it)Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:41 pmIt's incredibly subversive, dude.
