Re: What's going on in India?
That is the entire air war strategy of both China and Russia.
Of course they can do it. Especially Russia. Once the tanker is in range of their drone fighters it dies, and every last F-35 depending on it goes down with no fuel.

Yeah and that strategy isn't going to work, Russia and China know this, but Zerohedge does not, and neither do you apparently.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 3:59 pmThat is the entire air war strategy of both China and Russia.

The tanker doesn't need to be in range of their weapons, they simply need to get the F-35s into the range of their S2AM's, and then take them out, then they can move in after, no need to expose themselves.

LOL
Shooting down a tanker is as easy as shooting down an airliner.
Russia will just launch fighter drones racing out at mach 4 to engage the fucking things and kill them. Do the F-35s expend their only four useful missiles to protect the tankers or engage the fifth gen fighters prowling for them?
Either way the F-35 dies. It either runs out of fuel or gets shot down for lack of weapons.

It's because of that huge Bofors scandal with the howitzers. They poisoned the well for a long time.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 3:43 pmGood question in here is: why isn't Sweden selling them those Grippen lawn darts?Hastur wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 3:34 pmIndia ended up on the wrong side after kicking out the British. Russia is and has been for decades the main arms dealer to India.
The Indian Army is mostly T-90's and BMP-2's
The Indian Air Force flies Soviet MiGs and Russian Sukhois.
The Indian Navy uses Russian kit as well.
The Indians like to buy from a stable of vendors, as a political weapon, and in case a vendor would cut them off with sanctions.
Also, they like the Russian kit because it is cheap and plentiful, so it provides them with mass at an affordable price.
Sweden sold India some great howitzers but that led to a great corruption scandal.
We're back now though, trying to sell them J39s. It's one of the biggest arms buyers out there not having to bow to NATO interests.
Sweden is a good supplier of kit because they don't usually take sides. They make decent equipment for what it is.

We are back now though. The Indians are even license manufacturing Carl Gustav grenade rifles now.
Talks about Gripen is on.
Meanwhile we sold the Pakistanis our Saab 340 AEW&C.

Can't shoot it down, if it's too far away. The tankers will stay out of range, the F-35 will be in range, and then fly back out of range to refuel, until it's safe to move them in closer, because the remaining weapons are out of reach. When they run out of missiles, they can simply retreat.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:05 pmLOL

You are simply trying to make the problem out to be bigger than it is, because you are a SIFCLF whose confirmation bias is that the sky is falling. You are basically parroting the arguments straight out SuburbanFarmer's playbook, and trying to sound smart.

That is not really true. In order to get the F-35 in range to do anything useful, you have to move those tankers in range. The tanker's limitations are driven by the poor range of the F-35.StCapps wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:07 pmCan't shoot it down, if it's too far away. Ideally, yes, the tanker stays well outside the theater, but realistically, no, it can't work like that any longer because the F-35 has really poor range.
The reality is that, for all its bells and whistles, you cannot separate the F-35 from the tanker because of this shit range it has. Thus an F-35 is as vulnerable as the tanker that gets it to the battle, which frankly is not much more secure than an airliner.

America is so corrupt that it will collapse any day now and China will take over. Thanks Zerohedge, I think we get the point, but then again, maybe you should bring the RAND corporation up some more.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:11 pmWatch this video:

You could not have even read that article and listened to what the airman had to say in the few seconds between the post and your reply. You are a joke. Don't respond to shit you didn't bother to read.
