You think regulators with a profit motive will do a better job?
No, I think safety regulations fall within the purview of government.
Not sure what the disagreement between us is then.
Could just be arguing for argument's sake I suppose.

How many nuclear meltdowns occurred under this whistle blower's tenure BTW?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Does the nuclear meltdown of the Democratic party count per-Democrat, or only as a single aggregate incident?

OK then. If you insist on arguing for argument's sake,

You'll never amount to half the man Drtrech is. ;)

No, I think safety regulations fall within the purview of government. But Obama's top nuclear regulator is out here sounding alarm bells. Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows more about the current state of government regulation, me or the former US top nuclear regulator?

That's why I wanted you here Monte. Just want to see you tap dance around a top government regulator claiming that government regulation of the nuclear power industry is a disaster.

What now, fancy pants?
No, no, you've got it wrong. Former government officials no longer have any idea what they are talking about, it's only current officials that understand things. For instance, to the Brexit thread video I posted, Mervyn King - former BoE head has no clue, only current officials truly understand according to Monte.

Therefore nuclear power is perfectly safe, as long as the current regulator says it is. You should ignore all "former officials" completely.

It will take some decades before the live cores in fukishima become inert if ever. There is a huge amount of risk in operating nuclear plants but luckily there seems to be a large enough group with an adequate portion of hubris to convince gen x that the future won't be radiation strewn.
