I do understand quite well why they are rioting, not rebelling. And it's not because of immigration. It started out as protests against a fuel tax that hit rural populations extra hard. It spiralled into being about general dissatisfaction with president Macron, for example some of his anti-union policies. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:47 pmDo you even realize why they are rebelling? It was the French-German desire to build a framework for permanent peace between them that created the predeccesor to the EU. And France and Germany are major countries, economically and population-wise in Europe. The Conservative wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:16 pm
The EU is held together by sheer will of Germany and France.
You loose France, such as the immigration, etc, Germany will not keep the EU together.
You loose the EU, you loose the 2nd/3rd largest market in the world, and in turn, the stock market would be devastated.
That’s why...
You're still not making any sense, of course. "You lose France, such as the immigration"? Uh, come again? What did those words strung together even mean? That France is the country keep immigration into EU at bay? They're not. That it's the French who emigrate to other EU countries? They don't to any significant effect.
You do realize that there is no war, right? What would the US, or... *sigh* the UN, even intervene in or for? What sort of "intervention" are you talking about? Why would a country leaving the EU, or the entire EU breaking apart lead to any kind of intervention, at all, from either the US or... *sigh* the UN? Do you imagine the UN would...what... impose sanctions on France for leaving the EU?
It's because they are tired of the immigrants coming through, taking a piece of the pie and providing nothing in return, forcing France to become the country they left, etc...
These people want their country back if you lose the willingness of France to accept immigrants (legal or otherwise) into the country to take advantage of their systems, Germany will lose it's the largest supporter and the EU will implode ultimately.
Such a large economy imploding upon itself will cause waves through the international market, this would be devastating for markets barely holding on as is. If you can't see the forest through the trees, perhaps you need to look from a different perspective because this is pretty straight forward logic.

It's the anti-tax nuts you really gotta watch out for. What a bunch of whiners.

I agree we are, but do you want one really? This is a bad situation right now, Europe crashes and they go into a perverbial dark age.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:23 pmMeh, Stock Market crashes happen. The world doesn't end. TC's talking like a Eurocrat now. "Without the EU, Europe will descend into chaos, anarchy, war, cannibalism and a new dark age!". Thanks Verhofstadt..

I would hate to have to go through one. My father and mother did as kids and it wasn't fun. But my inner Nietzsche thinks it may be just what we need. Yeah, but do you think enough of the country is smart enough or able enough to do so?C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:45 pmI would hate to have to go through one. No, I am talking logically, the EU has made itself into a powerhouse, by going under one currency, and in doing so have made themselves dependent on each other, the problem is that if too many cards fall at the same time they cannot absorb the blow of such an action.
This is not me talking like a "Eurocrat" this is me talking as someone who remembers history... whenever an entity gets too big that it is dependent on all moving parts working flawlessly, there is an issue, because when one fails it may not fall apart, but with multiple parts collapsing, it will soon follow.
France leaves because its people want to, Germany will not be able to sustain the EU with England wanting to leave too, it will be given a greater reason to because with France leaving England will have no reason to stay. Greece will collapse, and other countries will soon follow, because without Germany and other countries to back the money given to them, said countries will go bankrupt. It won't want to be brought down by the collapse and will break away and take a small loss compared to complete collapse because of the EU imploding upon itself.

You guys still remember how to craft longboats, long houses, and create fire I hope. Sounds like Dark Age #2 is incoming.
Try to give the monasteries a break this time and limit your raiding to convenience stores and fast food places.
