Bully for you. Every time our government touches healthcare my premiums go up, so this idea that if we simply socialize medicine I'll suddenly be paying $2k a year instead of $12k is pretty much a fantasy.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 12:09 pm$1000 per month, Jesus Christ you are getting ripped off.DBTrek wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 6:28 pmI pay almost $1000 a month just in case something like that happens. How would me getting seriously ill while having medical insurance change my mind?
As I said, paying even more to cover everyone else isn’t great for me. In fact, I only have to pay so much because others already do not.
Average YEARLY private health insurance in the UK is £1453.
When the US Government proposes giving everyone in the country healthcare for a measly $2k a year I'm sure all the registered democrats, republicans, greens, libertarians, and minor parties will vote for it. Please let me know when that day arrives, because we've never had a healthcare proposal, socialized or otherwise, that has driven costs *down*.
From a US citizen perspective every vote on socialized or single-payer healthcare boils down to the simple question "Do you want to pay even more than the outlandish costs you currently pay to buy expensive healthcare to people who can't provide it for themselves."
Nope.
Don't wanna.
Thanks.
