What happens if you are so sick you are unable to work? Will you lose your job and insurance? Does you job cover you indefinitely even if you're making nothing and can't pay that $1000 per month?
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

It would work better to extend Medicare to people who cannot afford or get insurance. That lowers the insurance rates for everybody else.

Other than that, end the insurance markets somehow so that the United States is just one big insurance pool.

Why do insurance companies form cartels in a single state or area? Why is it that certain insurance companies have a monopoly on certain areas? I've often wondered how this came to be. That shit pisses me off.

It depends on how you got sick. If you are obese or whatever, then its kind of like you did that to yourself, and I don't think the taxpayer should be on the hook. Especially fat fucks who are on disability and use motorized wheelchairs. Those people are scum.

For one thing, it started naturally because each state implemented their own regulatory environment.

To work towards a single insurance pool, sans federal monkeying around, states would have to voluntarily join a coalition that all use the same regulations.

How much have your premiums jumped since ACA? Mine have skyrocketed. It fucking rages me. My parents told me that they are paying more for health insurance too.
About $300-$400 a month. Incredible increase to pay for the costs of Americans who don’t give a fuck about their own health.

What happens if I die, Brewster? What then? Omg, omg, someone died.
Pfffft

Look at it this way, how much should the rest of you pay to keep me alive? If my treatments cost $500 a month you all good chipping in fractions of a penny? Probably. If my treatment is going to cost $360 million, should you all pay that? Is that the best use of $360 million American citizens can come up with? Keep me alive for another few months?

Because you won’t have a choice. Everyone will pay whatever cost, no matter how exorbitant, to keep everyone else alive for one more minute.

Stupid. Wasteful.

Illnesses don't only affect the overweight.
I pay almost $1000 a month just in case something like that happens. How would me getting seriously ill while having medical insurance change my mind?

As I said, paying even more to cover everyone else isn’t great for me. In fact, I only have to pay so much because others already do not.
$1000 per month, Jesus Christ you are getting ripped off.
Average YEARLY private health insurance in the UK is £1453.
