My close up view of the Warwolf replica at Warwick castle.
You can see where the general public had to watch it from in the background.
Defective url.

This is it I guess.

And come on. Vertical video? Are you a 12 yo Instagramer or what?

The trebuchet is sixty foot tall. If I had turned it sideways I'd have had to stand further back to get it all in and I wanted to be as close as possible when it fired.
I'm happy to make some sacrifices for my buddies here on the MHF but I don't like any of you enough to back off from the world's largest medieval trebuchet when it is launching balls 200 m into the distance.
Cheers for sorting the URL.

Ps please watch on mute, I sound like a total knob...
You sound roughly like I imagined you would but more manly. ;)

I sound like a trebuchet nerd.
Busted....
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Nerd's are awesome. They took crap in HS, but now they are running the world.

This is the best thread on MHF.

Thanks, it's been fun doing the research...

I was a rugby playing jock in high school, my nerdiness didn't show till later in life.

Does anyone want to buy a share in a 13th-century French castle?
Yours for only 50 euros. Needs a little love...

A Mayan castle in Tulum:

There are castles all over the jungle where they built cities in the middle of fucking nowhere. They are heavily scavenged and eroded these days, though. You have to hike deep into the jungle to see the ones not fucked with in all this time, but it's dangerous and the Mayans who live there now might not be too happy about you fucking with that stuff.
