A few years back, some Lithuanian was telling me on DCF that we have to be ready to go to all-out war against Russia if they invade Lithuania.
I was like, what the fuck is Lithuania?? When I was a kid there was just the Soviet Union and it appears Lithuania was just part of the overall shittiness that was Russia. Now I have to go to nuclear war if the Russians attack it? LOL, no. Get real.
So, no NATO countries should have come to your defense when you invoked article 5, either?
Would it matter!?
How is 750 troops going to change anything, Bjorn?

The UN doesn't stop genocide and there is no USSR for NATO to contain.
They can both disband as far as I'm concerned.
That's generally what obsolete organizations are supposed to do.

Didn't say 750. Add up
ALL NATO allies, how many infantry, how much artillery, how much armor, air and naval capability, etc. do you get, then? My question is does
that number of troops change anything, StA?

Seems like Europe should send the troops to defend us whether or not NATO exists.
You don't have to, of course.
But since China and Russia are the only two countries remotely capable of challenging us head-on, you'll have to accept the new world order according to them if we fall.
(But we won't because our military is vastly superior)

You only saved us from the Germans once.
When did I "bitch" about losing soldiers in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.? It's your, the
personal you, the man behind StA, whose lack of respect and dishonesty I argue against.
Not America or Americans. I fully understand
what alliances mean. You don't seem to. It means honoring those alliances.
No European government today is
forcing you to pay 3.1% of GDP, so how about you butt out of what we spend and how we spend it? It's quite simply none of your business. If Russia attacks, and if you decide you'd rather be known as a trustworthy ally, you can always choose to send as little a percentage of your military forces as my country did.
Twice, but who’s counting.

Denmark was neutral in WWI , although some Danes from Southern Jutland were forced to fight FOR the Germans.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Oh, that the Allies saved us from becoming annexed by the Soviets otoh is not in any doubt. They rushed to occupy the island of Bornholm, but most of Denmark was under control of the British forces and there was no way Britain or the Allies generally would have allowed a Danish Soviet vassal state with Denmark's strategic Baltic Sea-Nordic Sea location and close proximity to Britain, and the US would obviously not have tolerated Soviet control of Greenland.
Anyway, the Frikorps fought the Soviets on the Eastern Front. To my knowledge none of them fought the British, American or French Allies. Then again, the Soviets and the rest of the allies is probably the "we" you're referring to, I suppose. Not that anyone mourns them. They killed more Danes than the Germans did.

I honestly had no idea where the Freikorps served. I was just rubbing salt in the wound. I'm sleaz, claiming moral high ground because a handful of Danes fought for the Nazi's. Other than a few American born men who returned to the Fatherland we didn't have anything like that.
Truth be told, the Soviets were probably more brutal an inhuman than the Nazi's. Our popular history doesn't remember it that way. The Danes going neutral in WWII was probably the best decision by the government for it's citizens.
